A digital manifold measures high and low side pressure, accepts line temperature clamps, and calculates saturation temperature, superheat and subcooling for the selected refrigerant in real time.
How to use it well
- Select the correct refrigerant before trusting any calculated value.
- Clamp temperature probes on clean, straight line sections and insulate them from ambient air.
- Let the system stabilize before recording readings.
- Keep hoses short and use low loss fittings to limit the refrigerant released when disconnecting.
Verify the tool
Check both sensors against a known ambient reading before a charging job. An instrument that is off by a few degrees will send you chasing a charge problem that does not exist.
